JAYDO

Both beginning with humble family businesses, FUCHS Lubricants Australasia and JAYDO Construction share similar local success stories.

Beginning with a man on a bicycle with a single oil can in Mannheim, FUCHS in now a global leader in lubrication with a local history spanning over 100 years.  Committed to is value proposition of ‘Australian Made with German Technology that pays back’, FUCHS has invested in two local world class plants and laboratories that manufacture premium quality lubricants to support the Australian Construction Material Processing industry.

Similarly, JAYDO has grown from a family-owned drainage business first established over 50 years ago to become a major player in the Victorian Pipeline Construction and Water Infrastructure Industry.  Securing a range of multi-million dollar projects, JAYDO has earned a reputation of providing outstanding value and service in earthmoving, pipelaying, drainage and water infrastructure - but this value would not be sustainable without ensuring that their world class machinery was in top working condition, and this is where these two local success stories intersect.

With over 90 machines, spanning from 2.5 tonne right up to 75 tonnes, effective and efficient maintenance of their fleet is crucial, a role that JAYDO has entrusted to FUCHS. With single hammer attachments such as the INDECO HP18000 weighing 10 tonnes, JAYDO uses none other than FUCHS’ flagship grease MEISSELPASTE.  Offering the highest level of wear protection, even in extreme temperatures, the hammer “never skips a beat” according to Colin Meredith (Plant Manager – JAYDO).  In addition to this, unlike some competitor brands, there is minimal product wastage, with the entire cartridge being expended, further increasing MEISSELPASTE’s ability to improve operating efficiencies.

But the savings don’t stop here, Colin confirms that JAYDO has also recently begun rolling out the use of FUCHS hydraulic oil, RENOLIN XtremeTemp 46 across its fleet.  Expertly designed to provide a range of benefits including reduced fuel consumption, increased service intervals, improved starting characteristics and reduced wear, Colin is looking forward to this translating into less maintenance and lower failure related downtimes across JAYDO’s fleet of earth moving equipment.

Another important consideration in JAYDO’s usage of FUCHS lubricants across their fleet is their commitment to a sustainable future.  With several key sustainability projects with the Victorian Water Authorities, using products that come from manufacturers that have a strong future sustainability plan is important to JAYDO and FUCHS ticks this box.  Since 2020, FUCHS has been CO₂-neutral ("gate-to-gate") with all its production subsidiaries with a plan to offer CO₂-neutral products ("cradle to gate") by 2025 through the use of renewable energy across its manufacturing plants globally.
