HYKOGEEN UMD 2/1
High performance lubricant for semi-hot forging
Performance Features
- excellent release and lubrication properties
- for the most complex metal-working processes
- increases tool life
- fills dies effectively
- low degree of settling out
- high flashpoint
Description
HYKOGEEN UMD 2/1 is a black, mineral oil-based lubricant and release agent, with excellent flowing properties, specially developed for the semi-hot forging of steel.
Area of application
HYKOGEEN UMD 2/1 is normally used to lubricate the dies used in forwards and backwards extrusion as well as semi-hot forging. HYKOGEEN UMD 2/1 has proved its effectiveness in difficult and complex steel forging operations where water-based products cannot be used.
Method of application
HYKOGEEN UMD 2/1 is normally sprayed, in its concentrated form, onto the dies using automatic spraying equipment (airless systems). Depending on the spraying equipment used (compressed air or airless) the lubricant may have to be preheated to approx. 60°C. The amount of lubricant used depends on the size and shape of the work piece.
Note
Other products from the LUBRODAL and HYKOGEEN ranges are available for large-scale metalworking processes. These include water and oil based products which do (or do not) contain graphite.
