A new engine oil for new requirements
Why the need for change?
Changes in legislation requiring vehicles to emit less and reduce fuel consumption have resulted in a wide variety of developments across vehicle, engine and lubricant manufacture industries.
In fact - and as below chart indicates - Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) have been continuously introducing upgraded approvals over previous specifications delivering further efficiency benefits:
In response, the American Petroleum Institute (API) introduced a new engine oil standard known as API CK-4. This upgrade, from the previous API CJ-4 which was launched in 2007, was approximately 10 years in the making as the industry had to ratify fluid and testing requirements that API CK-4 oils needed to pass.
Upon reviewing each of these developments, FUCHS utilized its extensive global network of affiliates, customers and suppliers to create a range of CK-4 engine oils which not only meet but also (in many instances) exceed the needs of today’s fleet and transport requirements.
Introducing new TITAN CARGO
TITAN CARGO can be used anywhere there are hardworking Commercial Diesel Engines be they On-Highway, Construction as well as Agricultural Engines. It works particularly well for modern heavy-duty engines which come fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and/or Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust gas treatment systems.
TITAN CARGO’s upgraded lubricant performance includes much improved Scuffing Protection, superior Oxidation Control as well as keeping the engine clean for extended drain periods. As a result, engine lifetime is extended and expected downtime for maintenance is reduced. Improvements in ‘viscometrics’ are likely to provide operators using TITAN CARGO with somewhat better fuel economy.
Being miscible with older engine oils, TITAN CARGO is also perfect for those operators who have a variety of vehicles operating within their fleets as no additional inventory needs to be stocked.
