FUCHS PETROLUB SE Attends China's High-Level Forum on Efficient Processing and Intelligent Manufacturing of Crankshafts and Connecting Rods

On August 20, 2020, the Working Conference for Members of the Crankshaft, Connecting Rod, and High-Strength Bolt Branch of the China Internal Combustion Engine Industry Association (CICEIA) and China's High-level Forum on Efficient Processing and Intelligent Manufacturing of Crankshafts and Connecting Rods was successfully held in Xining, Qinghai. The Conference was co-organized by the CICEIA Crankshaft, Connecting Rod, and High-Strength Bolt Branch and Automobil Industrie (an omni-media platform), and co-hosted by Xining Special Steel Co., Ltd. Over one hundred representatives from dozens of member companies gathered together to exchange views on industry and technology development centering on the theme of "High efficiency, High quality, and Intelligence". They especially discussed intelligent manufacturing technology solutions and shared their real-life experiences.

An engine is often referred to as the "heart" of automobiles, and the processing of its key parts manifests the precision manufacturing through all auto manufacturing technologies. Working crankshafts and connecting rods in engines must withstand intense acceleration and deceleration, severe bending deformation, high torque, and vibration impact. As a result, in addition to meticulous design, high-performance crankshafts and connecting rods also rely on appropriate batch processing technologies. Especially when it comes to the processing of main journals, connecting rod journals, oil seal journals, oil passage holes, and threaded holes, which is challenging and requires high precision, state-of-the-art technologies and processes are needed to ensure high efficiency and quality, and automation, digitalization, and intelligence-driven technologies should also be continuously applied to improve intelligent manufacturing and catch up with the future development trends. Mr. Zeng Yongjun, Product Manager Metalworking Fluids of FUCHS China, shared our crankshaft and connecting rod processing solutions with the representatives.
