On May 16, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of FUCHS China High Performance Grease Plant (hereinafter referred to as HPGP) took place in Yingkou. Over 300 distinguished guests, including top executives from FUCHS Group, officials of Yingkou government, representatives of customers, industry associations, and professional media, gathered to witness this significant milestone.

The official operation of HPGP not only demonstrates FUCHS Group's profound understanding of and unwavering commitment to the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets, but also sets a new benchmark for the entire industry with its cutting-edge technology, automated production methods, and stringent quality control measures.

Holistic Strategy to Strengthen Grease Customization Capabilities

Despite uncertainties in global economy, the demand for grease in China and Asia-Pacific region continues to grow. The official operation of HPGP in Yingkou not only highlights the forward-looking approach to strategic planning in the grease business, but also strategically positions itself for sustained growth in the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets.

Dr. Sebastian Heiner, member of the Executive Board and CTO of FUCHS Group, said, “As one of FUCHS Group's HPGPs deployed across Europe, Americas, and Asia, FUCHS China HPGP draws on the construction and operational experience of the previous two HPGPs, and incorporates FUCHS China's segment expertise, R&D customization capabilities and agile supply chain, aiming to provide high-quality lubrication solutions for regional customers using globally consistent formulas, raw materials, equipment, and processes.”

At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Zhu Qingping, member of FUCHS Group Management Committee and CEO of FUCHS China, stated, "FUCHS China HPGP is a response to the rapidly growing market demand. The project has received extensive support from all relevant parties, from planning to construction and successful operation, exemplifying 'China Speed'. The successful operation reinforces our brand presence and market share in the region and further demonstrates our ability to stand out in the fiercely competitive grease market."

Leveraging FUCHS Asia Pacific Technology Center, advanced equipment and facilities, and comprehensive QC testing facilities, FUCHS China will continue to pursue its localization strategy with the objective of reducing production costs and enhancing operational efficiency by fostering a more resilient supply chain and mature independent R&D capabilities. FUCHS China is committed to helping clients thrive in a competitive market landscape with tailor-made lubrication solutions designed to meet their unique needs.

Visionary Planning to Ensure Product Quality and Diversity

FUCHS China HPGP introduces the advanced Siemens MES system from Germany, achieving automation and intelligence in processes such as material adding, blending, and filling. This significantly boosts production efficiency and ensures quality consistency, while minimizing the likelihood of human error.

Currently, FUCHS China HPGP is capable of producing nearly all soap-based grease products, covering a variety of applications in emerging fields such as new energy vehicles, wind power, semiconductor, aerospace, and robot. The plant provides a comprehensive range of solutions to customers in various segments and also sets a clear direction for future development and innovation at FUCHS.

Green Initiatives to Firmly Advance Sustainable Strategies

Sustainable development is one of the six strategic pillars of FUCHS Group. The infrastructure development of FUCHS China HPGP not only meets current production and quality standards, but also anticipates future requirements for sustainability. This demonstrates FUCHS China's determination and ability in green transformation.

FUCHS China has been actively promoting the use of green electricity since the beginning of the plant construction. The photovoltaic project, completed concurrently with the first phase of plant construction, currently generates enough electricity to meet most of the power needs of Yingkou plant. In addition, the buildings of the plant are designed in accordance with the national green building standards, applying high-efficiency electromechanical devices and eco-friendly building materials with efficient thermal insulation. Furthermore, it features a dedicated outdoor air system that utilizes waste heat, along with energy monitoring and metering facilities and measures for water and energy conservation. These approaches work together to achieve energy conservation, reduce emissions, and drive down operating costs.

FUCHS China HPGP is currently establishing ISO 50001 energy management system and plans to obtain Green Plant Certificate from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) by 2025. Moving forward, FUCHS China will maintain a focus on optimizing and upgrading its infrastructure and providing green electricity products to meet customers' demand for eco-friendly products. This will help drive the green transformation of the entire lubricant industry.

Combining technological prowess with automated, intelligent, and sustainable manufacturing practices, FUCHS China HPGP will empower more Chinese and regional customers to achieve technological breakthroughs, quality excellence, and remarkable business growth, MOVING YOUR WORLD BEYOND 5S!
