Anti-Efflorescence System
BRYTEN PREMIUM S2C | FILMAT AQ 773
Efflorescence, both primary and secondary, is a common problem for precast concrete manufacturers. It is produced when the calcium and sodium hydroxide present in the concrete come into contact with water and air. In addition, efflorescence depends on the composition and quantity of the concrete’s ingredients, its curing process and its storage. Although efflorescence does not damage the concrete’s properties, it does affect its aesthetic quality, which is a costly problem to solve.
In accordance with the DIN 52111 standard, FUCHS has developed two products to eliminate this problem:
BRYTEN PREMIUM S2C, an admixture that achieves a complete and homogeneous water-repellent treatment throughout the concrete, lowering capillary absorption and therefore reducing efflorescence.
FILMAT AQ 773, which provides a water-repellent surface treatment and therefore prevents efflorescence on the surface of the concrete.
The combination of both products provides total assurance of no efflorescence
- Reduces efflorescence
- Improves the appearance of coloured items
- Better sealed, more even and smoother surfaces
- Continuous product quality due to greater mixture homogeneity
- Increases resistance to freezing and thawing cycles
- Reduces the defective portion of a consignment, resulting in fewer returns
- Increased waterproofing by decreasing the capillary absorption coefficient
