Cutting & Grinding
Reference guide by type of operation
In order to make it easier to consult the catalogue, FUCHS products are arranged by machining operations, so it is possible for the same product to appear in various applications, in which case the recommended working concentration must be adapted.
The products recommended for each operation are also grouped into four main ranges that are easily distinguishable:
ECOCOOL: Water-soluble fluids
ECOCOOL 700 range: New-generation products
ECOCUT range: Neat machining oils
ECOCUT range with Group III base oils & GTL
Essential functions of a machining fluid
The machining process involves generating a great deal of heat. The cutting area produces heat from the friction between the tool edge and the workpiece, as well as between the tool and the swarf, not forgetting the heat generated by friction between layers as the swarf is deformed.
If this heat is not removed quickly, the temperature of the tool increases considerably, which causes rapid tool wear and, in turn, a poor surface finish of the machined part.
"The best way to work on the cutting area is to use cutting fluids with a lubricating and cooling effect"
The safest formulations for working conditions and the environment
Our products are not limited to simply complying with current regulations, Rather, we are committed to taking a step further, promoting the continuous improvement of working conditions and sustainability.
Avoiding as much as possible work-related health hazards.
Carrying out the EH&S assessment of all materials used, reducing the use of hazardous materials, especially substances of very high concern (SVHC) such as carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic for reproduction (CMR) substances.
Ensuring regulatory compliance with respect to product classification and labelling (CLP) and producing safety data sheets.
Ensuring compliance with applicable registration (REACH) and product notification requirements.
