Safer use with new, ready-mixed industrial glycol
RENOLIN MPG 5 mix 30 is a new ready-mixed industrial glycol, specially developed for cooling spindles in CNC machines. Optimised for the task and completely free of hazardous substances, this is a new, safe alternative for machine operators and mechanical equipment.
RENOLIN MPG 5 mix 30 is based on tried and tested FUCHS technology combined with deionised water.
“Adding transport volume with water may seem unnecessary,” says Thomas Berthou, a Sales Engineer on the industrial side. “But in this case I have to say the advantages can balance out any drawbacks.”
A guaranteed optimised mix
Although RENOLIN MPG 5 mix 30 is specially developed for cooling tool spindles, it is recommended for all circulation systems that transport heat for heating, cooling or frost protection purposes.
One major advantage of this ready-mixed product (apart from being ready to use) is that it’s optimised to provide a long life with excellent rust protection and extremely good cooling properties, while the operator avoids having to do the mixing. This minimises not only the operator’s exposure to hazardous liquid, but also risks in the form of incorrect mixtures and impurities in normal tap water.
The water quality is important. Because the new mix is based on deionised water, it helps to reduce corrosion and extend service life. Also the optimised concentration boosts rust protection, while also improving the cooling effect.
– “The operator’s life is far simpler when they don’t have to think about water type, glycol type, amounts and so on. Otherwise, the two risks you run when mixing yourself is that too low a concentration causes corrosion, while too high a concentration reduces the cooling properties,” Thomas Berthou explains. Having said that, if required the oil can be further diluted by adding more deionised water, which is free of minerals and metals which are always found in tap water.
Free of hazardous substances – a major benefit in low-toxicity applications
Another huge benefit is that RENOLIN MPG 5 mix 30 is based on MPG and contains no hazardous substances.
There are two types of glycol – MEG (monoethylene glycol) and MPG (monopropylene glycol) – which are based on different contents and properties. MPG products are not classed as hazardous products (unlike MEG products). The absence of hazardous substances also makes it ideal for applications that require low toxicity, such as food production.
“Being able to ensure the right concentration in all machines simply and reliably, regardless of the operator, is a huge plus. Similar effects can of course be achieved, but using this product is a far nicer experience,” says Thomas Berthou. “Safer and with no hazardous content.”
