Within the cement and mining industry, some machines occupy a key position in the production process. These include furnaces, mills, crushers and presses for the preparation of materials. Machinery such as mills and furnaces are equipped with an open gear mechanism.
These large sprocket/toothed crown drives are used in facilities whose essential functions are cement production, raw material and mineral processing, and fertilizer production plants. Therefore, the reliability and safety of gear operation is very important. To achieve the required production reliability, these machines must have good maintenance, and for moving equipment, the most important part of such maintenance is lubrication. Selecting the right lubricant is therefore essential for the reliability of the manufacturing process.
The lubrication of the sprocket/crown drives previously mentioned installations is not an easy task. The construction characteristics of the gear, operating conditions, environmental factors, as well as the field of application in each case should be considered.
Over time, FUCHS has developed the CEPLATTYN family, specially developed for the lubrication of open gears. Within the CEPLATTYN family product range, we have the CEPLATTYN SF 10.
CEPLATTYN SF 10 is a high viscosity adhesive lubricant for open gears subjected to high loads. CEPLATTYN SF 10 is composed of a synthetic base oil and new types of additives, resulting in a very stable film between the flanks of the teeth that are in contact. This ensures exceptionally good wear protection. Even if minimum product quantities are applied, CEPLATTYN SF 10 ensures safe operating conditions in open gears in the raw materials industry.
- CEPLATTYN SF 10 is free of bitumen and solvents. Its light color facilitates the inspection of gears.
- CEPLATTYN SF 10 is also suitable for lubrication of large drive chains.
- CEPLATTYN SF 10 exceeds the requirements of AGMA 9005-D94/ Lubricant 13 EP / 13 S.
Most original equipment manufacturers, as well as lubricant producers, conduct extensive testing to ensure product performance before a test is granted. In addition to lubrication charts, equipment manufacturers provide a special list of approvals for the most severe applications.
CEPLATTYN SF 10 is approved by CITIC, Ferry-Capitain/CMD, FLSmidth, KHD Humboldt Wedag, Metso and Outotec.
Application
CEPLATTYN SF 10 is applied through conventional spray lubrication systems. For critical drives, we recommend CEPLATTYN SF 30.
