Lubricants captured CO2 from ambient air
Climate Change is considered one of the greatest challenges of our time. A timely switch from fossile to renewable energy sources will also lead to a shift away from our main raw material, crude oil. Here, alternatives are urgently needed.
Besides recycling and plant-based raw materials, another carbon source should be considered: captured CO2 from ambient air. By using it as a feedstock for our products, we can simultaneously remove it from the atmosphere.
The FUCHS Innovation Award-winning Project “CO2 Catcher Lubricants” takes a closer look at technologies and synthesis routes, as well as economic aspects regarding the use of CO2 as a base chemical for our company.
