FUCHS is AMSPORT's exclusive choice

The extreme demands and conditions of competition are the best way to test components and lubricants. That's how FUCHS oils convinced AM Sport in its racing sector. That's why the Viseu workshop is now extending its partnership with the workshop brand to its second branch, the multi-brand workshop. "I've always seen FUCHS as a brand with high quality products. We started working little by little, because I had other partners who worked with us, other brands, but FUCHS has always been the brand that has given me confidence, security and reliability for my customers too," says José Cruz, founder and manager of AM Sport.

After three years of experience and knowledge of FUCHS oils in competition, AM Sport will now exclusively use the German multinational's products to maintain the vehicles of its corporate and private clients. "This is a decision that makes us very happy because it is a recognition of our products and because AM Sport is a reputable workshop that customers trust. So they know that if their trusted mechanic recommends FUCHS to them, it's because it's the best solution," says André Castro Pinheiro, director of the Automotive Division at FUCHS Lubricants.

For José Cruz, this is the natural way to go because, in addition to the quality of the lubricants they tested in the extreme conditions of the competition, FUCHS offers the Oil Chooser online, which simplifies the work of its 13 mechanics: "FUCHS is very helpful and we have easy access to the product. Whether it's a Porsche, a Mercedes, a BMW, whatever it is, we go to the FUCHS website and find all the steps. That gives us security and then the product is really good."

AM Sport is now a renowned workshop in Viseu and accompanies dozens of drivers in competition. José Cruz founded AM Sport in 1987. The mechanic started out alone providing the traditional services of a garage, but he already had the racing bug. First as a spectator, "then, in 90-something, I got into racing, just for fun. We grew up with the drivers and got seriously into racing," he says. "We followed dozens of drivers, some in the speed section, others in the mountain section, others in the Rally Cross section, from different brands." José Cruz currently manages and works at AM Sport with his two sons, who are also drivers. José Cruz and Ruben Lopes compete in one-off events and the youngest son, Hugo Lopes, is already a well-known rally driver.

As AM Sport's trademark, driver Hugo Lopes takes the wheel for the competition. He has been racing since he was 13 and had his first victory in his category in the Portuguese 2RM Rally Championship (two-wheel drive) in July of this year. Hugo Lopes believes that "the competition part also conveys confidence to everyday customers. A well-prepared car in a competition also represents the quality of the day-to-day workshop."

AM Sport has been in the market for almost 40 years and has been serving clients, both private and corporate, since then. How did they react? "We've had loyal customers for many years who trust us and our recommendations. This is in the workshop like with our family doctor, we have to trust him," explains the manager of AM Sport and continues: "We had to say that now we're no longer working with this brand and we're going to work with FUCHS because it's a brand in which we feel great confidence and customers tell me: "If you feel confidence, we believe in you."
