This is the FUCHS recommendation for professional racing and track days. The innovative SILKOLENE PRO R 0W-20 RACING OIL sets the new standard for racing lubrication. Fully synthetic with a PAO/ester base, it has a state-of-the-art friction modifier additive which, combined with a low SAE 0W-20 viscosity grade, reduces internal friction and keeps the protective lubricant film very strong. New mobility, digitalisation and sustainability. As a technology leader in these three global trends, the FUCHS Group decided to adapt its name. At the end of June, it shelved the name FUCHS PETROLUB SE, which no longer matched the expanded universe of more than 10,000 products and exponential solutions for lubricants and functional fluids. "The name got small," explains Paul Cezanne, Managing Director of the Portuguese subsidiary FUCHS Lubrificantes, and adds. "Now our Group is simply called FUCHS SE and that's it: The name encompasses, on the one hand, a pioneering history of more than 90 years and, on the other hand, the current focus on developing new high-tech lubrication solutions in response to current and future challenges in digitalisation, future mobility and sustainability."

They are aged between 32 and 64, mostly Portuguese and reach speeds of up to 291 km/h on their naked bikes. The riders of the Tuonocup, S1000R Cup and Triple Cup trophies have nerves of steel and a strong heart. In each race, they reach heart rates of 175 and 178 per minute. "And this for about 20 minutes," says Paulo Vicente, who has been organising the trophies since 2016. "I've measured the bpm of several participants and they're all the same. People, depending on their preparation, at rest have around 70 bpm. On the track, when the traffic lights go red for the start, the heart rate immediately rises to 150. And after the start, it increases rapidly to the maximum rate." He emphasises that this is a special feature of motorsport, and especially motorcycling: "Because we are always fighting with the brain, which appeals to our reasonableness. The brain says: you should have braked by now!  But our experience and our skills challenge it: No, you can brake even later. And so this stress, this permanent conflict, makes us always walk with 175 to 178 bpm." 

The new range from FUCHS is an upgrade to RENOLIN B HVI and achieves superior performance thanks to its formulation with hydrotreated bases. PLUS means greater ageing stability with up to twice as long a life compared to mineral hydraulic oils, more purity and lower sulphur content in the base oil, so it boosts resistance to sludge, varnish and residue formation. More benefits: The RENOLIN B HVI PLUS range has a more stable viscosity index even compared to other high viscosity index mineral hydraulic oils and its air separation properties are superior, which ensures greater efficiency.

It is remarkable how the speed of machine tool spindle bearings has increased! Of course FUCHS is always up to date and develops solutions to match. RENOLIT HI SPEED 2 is a grease that minimises internal friction and the expulsion of grease by centrifugation. It is suitable for a wide range of working temperatures, from -40°C to +120°C, protects components against corrosion, has a good adhesion on surfaces and is fully compatible with other references for the same application. In short: RENOLIT HI SPEED 2 is a high performance solution.

FUCHS has. They are called PLANTOFLUX AT-S 46 and 68. They are synthetic fluids, with self-extinguishing properties, formulated with organic esters and selected additives. The result? They are fire resistant, quickly biodegradable, innocuous and free of mineral oils and toxic decomposition products and unpleasant smells. What's more: PLANTOFLUX AT-S 46 and 68 hydraulic fluids have excellent EP-/AW properties, high wear and corrosion protection, excellent resistance to ageing and oxidation, as well as outstanding viscosity/temperature characteristics, fast air separation and low foaming. Plus: They are approved by "Factory Mutual Research".

There are many hydraulic installations near water courses (mini-hydro plants, dams, etc.) or belonging to wastewater treatment plants that traditionally operate with mineral-based hydraulic fluids. At any time there is the risk of an accidental leak, which will be the source of a serious contamination problem due to the non-biodegradable nature of mineral-based fluids.

The various OEM's and suppliers to the automotive sector require efficient production lines in order to increase profitability, with factors such as machine availability, downtime and maintenance costs playing a central role in this effort.

"I am waiting for the written proposal, but I will accept. I like challenges", says Artur Teixeira on his visit to FUCHS in Maia in February. The managing partner of the YesCar Group, who has been a FUCHS customer for seven years, now wants to extend his collaboration with the garage brand, and make the lubricants available to his colleagues. "I am happy with our partnership. So I'm going to accept the challenge of increasing the partnership and sell FUCHS products through our company Teixeira, Torres e Tavares, which is a purchasing centre for YesCar, but not only. We will try to extend the partnership and sell FUCHS products to my colleagues from other garages", explains Artur Teixeira.

The garage brand will continue to be noticed in the Portuguese Rally Championship (CPR). Clearly evident on the bonnet and sides of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2, the FUCHS logo will accompany Ricardo Teodósio and his navigator José Teixeira throughout the eight races of the CPR 2023. This is the fifth consecutive year of the partnership that began in 2019 right with the first victory of the Algarve driver.
