Ciceley Motorsport Battle To Victory In Dubai’s Desert Heat
FUCHS-backed Ciceley Motorsport scooped a fantastic debut endurance win in the UAE.
The team took its new GT team into The Creventic 24hr of Dubai – and came away as A2 class champions!
Adam Morgan said: “A big thank you to everyone on the team. From the mechanics to the drivers, every single member of our team played a vital part in our success.
“Thank you to all of our supporters too for your amazing messages. We are literally overwhelmed with your support.”
Ciceley transformed two of their Gen 4 Renault Clio UK Cup cars ready for the event. Suspension, 100L fuel cells, brakes, engine management and cooling systems were all modified ready for the heat of the desert.
A successful qualifying session set the team up for the race.
And, despite the conditions in the Middle East which saw them encounter a number of problems throughout the race, the drivers – Adam Morgan, Max Coates, Harald Rettich, Adam Hatfield, Max Bird and Frank Bird - performed brilliantly to take victory after completing 509 laps.
Elsewhere, karting hot prospect Freddie Housley was delighted to collect his MSA British championship 2nd place trophy at the Autosport show last week.
The trophy was presented by BTCC great Matt Neal. Freddie also got to sit in some cool cars including Fernando Alonso’s 24hr Daytona race car.
Freddie and his dad head out to Valencia with the Zip Team this week to do some serious testing in the Cadet.
Congratulations also to Paige Bellerby, who has been selected to join the Christopher Ward Challenger Programme, a scheme dedicated to supporting grassroots-level individuals with world-class potential.
FUCHS-supported Steve Brown had a fun day out competing in the Swift Signs Christmas Stages Rally at Croft race circuit near Darlington.
Competing in a borrowed Mitsubishi just before New Year, Steve finished 13th in class, his worst result of the year – but with a huge smile on his face.
He said: “A mixture of snow and ice made the going very difficult but fun. We must have spun four times on the third stage like so many of the other front runners - power was a definite embarrassment in those conditions!
“The only choice of tyres we had were either gravel spec or intermediates, and the gravel tyres were no good on ice and the inters were useless in the snow.”
This week FUCHS Lubricants was delighted to announce that it will be the headline sponsor for both the MSA British Historic Rally Championship and the established FUCHS LUBRICANTS RACRMC Historic Asphalt Rally Championship.
The partnership was revealed at the Autosport Show at the NEC, Birmingham.
Sally Travis, marketing manager at FUCHS, said: “I am excited about the chance to have the FUCHS name in partnership with both the UK’s top two historic championships.
“We have a long history in motor sport and our proven products are demanded by track day enthusiast to professional racer.”
