Collier Third in Debut British Superstock Season
Joe Collier took third place overall in the National 1000cc Superstock Championship with EHA Racing aboard the In Competition prepared Aprilia RSV4 RF during 2018, which was rounded out with a fifth-placed finish at Brands Hatch on Sunday at the season finale.
The series rookie further proved his pedigree by securing the pole position time, which was under the official lap record. His fifth place in Sunday’s rain-sodden National 1000cc Superstock race, left him just 7.5-points adrift of second place in the championship standings behind eventual winner Keith Farmer and second placed man Billy McConnell.
Collier said: “I’m disappointed that I couldn’t find the pace and grip I needed to challenge at the front today in the final race of the year, especially from pole position, but overall we’ve had a successful season. I’ve really enjoyed my time with EHA Racing and riding the Aprilia, so thanks to everyone for their support."
The EHA Racing rider added: “I came into the series only ever having raced at two meetings last year in the class, which was further strengthened this year by Keith Farmer and Billy McConnell. I had some great battles with both of them and a number of others, and would like to congratulate Keith on winning the championship. The Aprilia RSV4 RF has been a great package to ride and we were competitive at all rounds in 2018. Thanks as always to my personal sponsors and a special mention must go to Jeff and the team at KGN who have made the season all the more enjoyable.”
