Stunning start to 2017 for Bellerby Motorsport
On Sunday, the Bellerby sisters took the opportunity for an early season-opener by entering the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross championship event at Blyton Park Rallycross circuit. Paige continued with her Lotus Exige in the Super Modified class, and was joined in the same category by sister Drew in her newly-acquired BMW Mini Cooper S. This was because there wasn’t a separate class for the BMW Minis, as there is in the British Rallycross championship. But during the heats and Finals, Drew more than held her own against more experienced drivers, in more powerful machinery, and ended the day taking her first class award on her debut in the new car.
“I’ve really enjoyed today” said an elated Drew. ” I’ve learnt so much about coping with the supercharged power, and how to make the most of the Quaife Limited Slip Diff.”
Drew runs Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5w/30 in the supercharged engine, and Fuchs Titan Syn 5 75w/90 in the transmission.
However, the drive of the weekend from the Fuchs competitors came from Paige Bellerby, who showed her class from the start, with a series of powerful, controlled drives during the day which culminated in victory in the final race of the day, when Paige rocketed into the lead from a grid position of 3rd, then was never headed throughout five close, tense laps of the Blyton circuit.
“I can hardly believe my result today” was Paige’s response to the TV interviewer afterwards. “This has set me up really well for next weekend at Croft circuit, and I’ve got so much confidence from my driving, as well as how I coped under pressure”.
“Drew and I are really grateful to everyone at Fuchs Lubricants UK for their fantastic support, and also to all the people who have helped us to get so far.”
Paige’s Lotus uses Fuchs Titan Pro S 5w/40 in the engine, Titan Race Syn5 75w/90 in the transmission and Pro Cool in the cooling system.
