Paige Bellerby wins Super National Title in Five Nations British Rallycross Championship
Paige Bellerby has been declared the winner of the Super National Rallycross Championship after the penultimate round which was held at Lydden Hill in December, because the organisers had to cancel the final planned round because of Covid restrictions. On finding out the news, Paige said “Although this year has not been how we all would have hoped it had been this truly is a fantastic result and brings a massive amount of joy to the end of what has been an awful year for everyone.”
Paige is the first woman to win the Super National title, and joins sister Drew as the only other female winner of a National title - The duo are also (unsurprisingly maybe) the only sisters to have won National titles.
Paige used her trusty Lotus to great effect during the shortened season, being thoroughly used to the power of the 2.4 litre normally aspirated Honda engine as well as the handling characteristics of her pocket rocket. A particular highlight of her win was the late evening round of the championship at Lydden in October; “Tackling Hairy Hill in the dark is an amazing experience, and the floodlit track creates a great atmosphere” she said at the end of the meeting.
Paige summed up her successful season:
“My biggest thanks and gratitude go to all of my sponsors who have continued to support my team through this awful year, and especially to Sally Travis who we lost this year, a very much loved member from our FUCHS Family; this one is for you, our angel in the sky.
I hope 2021 is different and we’re able to return to fight for the win again at all rounds with all the spectators and fans.”
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our FUCHS Sponsored Paige Bellerby!
