Chicken flies to victory at Blyton Park Rallycross
The FUCHS LUBRICANTS Super Modified category had its penultimate round at Blyton Park on Sunday 15th October. The class attracted fifteen entries who battled through three rounds of heats in the first session, and it was Allan Tapscott (Corsa Rwd) who came out on top and secured fastest time and pole position for the category A Final.
The initial start of the A final was red flagged after 2 laps as pole sitter Allan Tapscott and front row driver Phil chicken (Citroen C2) had a coming together, collecting one of the course markers, thus necessitating a re-start. Again it was Alan Tapscott who got away cleanly and led a close race from Chicken, until lap 3 saw Tapscott stall in a hairpin, thus gifting the lead to Chicken who took advantage of the clear track in front of him to take the chequered flag and with it the Super Modified championship lead. Behind the victorious Chicken were Paul Johnson (BMW M3 RWD) and Marc Jones (Toyota MR2).
The final round of the championship will be at Croft Rallycross circuit on Sunday 5th November.
