FUCHS Swab School
On 25th May, FUCHS UK conducted a Swab School of its Global Business Segment Glass in conjunction with Beatson Clark Glassworks.
The session was attended by machine operators and senior staff from Beatson Clark along with Tritech, FUCHS Group trading partners in Central America. The session covered the importance of correct swabbing along with additional training in the virtual world for members of the Tritech team, supported by Beatson Clark's Virtual Reality portal developed by VRMT.
Stephen Harris, Head of Global Business Segment Glass, commented;
"It's been a pleasure having our partners Tritech in the UK. I have been to Central America and seen first-hand the great work they are doing in the region on supporting Glass container manufacturers with the FUCHS Vitrolis range of Glass lubricants. The additional training we have undertaken this week will provide the knowledge and understanding to support further development in new product areas"
To further support Tritech, a Product Application / Product Development day was held at FUCHS UK. The session was mediated by Iwona Skzoda Giannaki, Global R+D Chemist Glass.
Iwona commented “Whilst the understanding of the application of the products is crucial for the success of the development of our Glass Global Business Segment, this is made so much easier for our colleagues with knowledge of how our products are designed and our key goals. At our competence centre at FUCHS UK, we pride ourselves on the benchmarking work we do against competitor grades which allows us to develop products based on strengths and weaknesses. We can then provide this information to our colleagues and partners to use as a technical sales pitch in the marketplace."
