FUCHS UK pleased to support customer charity event
“Howco Group does Kilimanjaro and raises £36,000 for Charity”
FUCHS UK were please to support a team of seven from Howco Group Plc, a Sheffield based company and leading supplier of Nickel and Alloy Steels to the Oil & Gas Industry, which recently undertook the Trek to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. At nearly 6000m the mountain is the highest freestanding mountain in the world.
It took 6 days to reach the summit allowing for time to acclimatise to the high altitude and enhance the team’s chance of success.
The team took on the challenge in memory of a close colleague – Garry Smith the company Technical and Quality Manager who sadly lost his fight against cancer in 2016.
Andrew Marwood - European Operations Director said “This was is a fantastic achievement and the amount of money we have raised far exceeded all our expectations. All the monies raised will go to Cancer Research UK and go towards the fight to rid the world of this heart breaking disease.
“A huge thank you goes out to everyone who has donated and supported the team in raising these funds with special thanks to FUCHS UK who was one of main our corporate sponsors.
“All kinds of emotions arise within yourself doing something like this, but none more so than the saying “life is too short, go do the things you dream of – don’t think about it just do it!!”
