FAD-free chemistry
Legislation changes
Formaldehyde donating (FAD) biocides have historically been used to improve the sump life of soluble metal working fluids. New legislation came into effect 1st December 2018 under recent updates to CLP (Classification, Labelling & Packaging) regulations that any coolant containing more than 1,000 PPM (Parts Per Million) of this type of biocide must carry a category 1B carcinogenic label.
