Case Study - ECO DRAW EG 40
Synthetic Lubricant for Heavy-Duty Forming
Application: Blanking Presses
Challenge
A customer stamping automotive frame components on three medium-tonnage presses was using a competitive synthetic fluid that was leaving an undesirable, sticky residue that caused the blanks to stick together. This was causing double transfer of the blanks resulting in increased tool wear and severe tool crashes.
Solution
ECO DRAW EG 40 is a water-soluble synthetic lubricant for use in moderate to difficult metal forming operations and specifically for compatibility with non-ferrous and galvanized/galvanneal coatings. Additionally, ECO DRAW EG 40 possesses good in-process anti-corrosion properties, exceptional lubrication for heavier gauges, and protects tools against galling.
Results
ECO DRAW EG 40 is effective at lower concentrations and cost than the competitive product. The light non-sticky residue eliminated accidental double transfer of blanks, and parts can be welded without washing. ECO DRAW EG 40 eliminated significant downtime as well as reducing scrap, tool wear and damage.
Advantages
- Light, non-sticky, weldable residue
- Increased productivity, part quality and tool life
- Burr-free blanked parts
