Challenge

Supply chain issues can cause major disruptions to manufacturing operations. In some cases, the inability to procure a specific lubricant can even force a plant to shutdown, resulting in lost profits and delays to the customer. Such was the case with a leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging who were experiencing difficulties purchasing their standard grease for their corrugator bearings. Without a quick replacement, the customer faced a shutdown. To avoid downtime, they needed a readily available bearing lubricant that could meet their high performance standards.

Solution

Luckily, FUCHS was able to offer a drop-in replacement to help the customer avoid a shutdown. NYECORR® 140 is a proven PFPE (perfluoropolyether), synthetic bearing grease formulated specifically for the maintenance of single-facer, pressure roll, and pre-heater bearings in the corrugating industry. NYECORR® 140 was compatible with the lubricant that the customer had previously used, meaning it could be pumped directly over the other PFPE grease for easy replacement. Additionally NYECORR® 140 is PFOA-free and NSF-H1 approved for incidental food contact.
