Case Study - RENOFORM OS 7802

Challenge

An Automotive OEM wanted to replace their metal stamping lubricant to reduce costs. A FUCHS representative came to complete a plant audit to understand how their operations could be improved. The customer had been using a chlorinated product which was causing biomasses to accumulate in their pax reservoirs. There was also evidence of torn and cracked extrusions that indicated premature tool wear.

Upon conducting the audit, RENOFORM OS 7802 was recommended and trialed at the plant. RENOFORM OS 7802 is chlorine-free and resists microbial growth by maintaining a stable pH. The lubricant significantly improved part quality without tearing or distorting the extrusions and increased tap life immediately. The filters are no longer clogged and have to be replaced with far less frequency.  

Results

With RENOFORM OS 7802, the customer was able to reduce lubricant usage by over 200%, eliminate 600 gallons per week of waste, and significantly increase tap life. This all provided a total yearly savings of over $100K which is 87% of the yearly purchase of RENOFORM OS 7802.
