The MAD Racing team, sponsored by FUCHS Lubricants, completed their first race for the 2018 season in Port Shepstone at the Dezzi 2018 KZN Round1.

The team raced a VW Polo driven by Dewald Brummer which was the first competition race for this car.

Brummer qualified fourth in the starting line-up, however, in the first race he encountered a mechanical breakdown forcing the team to do emergency repairs. Despite fixing the problem, Brummer missed the timed pit lane closure by only a few seconds.

In race 2 Brummer started at the back of the grid. His skill and experience showed as he managed to move from position 35 in the MAD Racing FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored team Polo to an excellent 5th place finish.

“We are happy with the performance today. The FUCHS Lubricants products complemented our performance as a team,” said Deon Brummer, team manager MAD Racing. “We will be working harder to fix the vehicle’s mechanical problems in preparation for the next race on 3 March at Dezzi Raceway.”
