Lance Isaacs Wins First Race in New Championship
Following a decision to move from the SuperGP Champions Trophy to the Bridgestone Thunderbike Championship, the FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored Lance Isaacs Racing team arrived at Zwartkops Raceway filled with anticipation.
In the first practice session in the new Class, Isaacs had to come to grips with the new Bridgestone tyres after seven years of using Pirellis. In his qualifying session, he finished in 2nd position, a good position on the grid for race 1.
Race 1: With five laps into the race, Isaacs found his rhythm and courage and took the lead to win the race. The win in the first race secured him pole position for race two. Unfortunately, an oil spillage declared the track too dangerous for racing and Isaacs was declared overall winner for the day.
Lance is currently 3rd in the overall championship and leading in the Class X Championship. His team mate Harry Timmermann, finished in 7th position in the Sub10 Class in his first race for the team.
The next race for Lance Isaacs Racing Team is on March 24 at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
