Race Report: 12 May

AM Racing

Round 3 of the Autobarn Superhatch championship saw FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored AM Racing back at home base at the Zwartkops raceway.

The qualifying race day saw Alex Marques experience some difficulty and only managed to qualify in 9th place out of the 12 competitors in his class.

Race 1: Starting in 9th, Alex faced a challenging race and lost 2. His determination however didn’t allow him to lose hope. He fought hard to pass his competitors and finished 8th.

Race 2: Alex managed to pass only one other racer and finished in 7th place. He was given a 7th place overall. The team is hoping for better results at the next race on the 3rd of June at Midvaal Raceway.

Team Arrow Underwriting Managers – Gordon’s Bay Club Event 12 May 2018

Th Gordon’s Bay Club event had registration of 31 teams including Team Arrow sponsored by FUCHS Lubricants. The team finished the day in 2nd position overall and gained valuable information with regards to new propeller selections which were tested under race conditions. The next event that team Arrow will participate in is the last round of the National Championships, the “Ice Block” event taking place on the Vaal River over the weekend of 9 & 10 June. This is the premier event for the Gauteng region.

Team Arrow has an excellent chance of securing 2nd place overall in the 2017/2018 National Championships and all odds favour them to take the overall victory. 

The team is currently preparing for this event as well as the upcoming World Championships taking place in France in September. “Thank you, FUCHS Lubricants, for the Silkolene products you supply. It has really increased our competitive advantage in the racing world,” said Marc Gleed, team manager.
