Motocross Racers Have a Good Start to 2019 Season
The 2019 Motocross season officially began on a good note for FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored racers Cameron Durow and Marc Ansley as they embarked in their first regional races.
Practice: Cameron Durow had a positive first regional race. He was the fastest in practice on his 250 bike.
Moto 1: Durow started well and despite going down he still gave it his best. However, a mechanical failure saw him not finishing the first race.
Moto 2: In race 2, Durow changed bikes and was back racing again. Despite being on a slower bike- a 125 - he finished in 2nd position.
Dash For Cash: This was the final race of the day - a 10 minute moto. Durow’s original 250 bike was repaired and he had a point to prove as he went on to win the final race. Durow’s next race is the Mx Nationals taking place on the 23rd of February.
Marc Ansley: Round 1 of the Northern Regions Motocross Championship took place at Terra Topia Motocross track near Fourways in Gauteng on the 26 January 2019.
Practice: Ansley’s first race practice went well as he qualified 5th in the MX3 class.
Heat1: As the gates dropped, Ansley got off to a good start in third place where he stayed until the second last lap after which he lost a spot and finished in 4th position.
Heat 2: Ansley stayed with other competitors in 2nd place and towards the end he lost a few spots to 4th where he finished the race. He was given a 4th place overall for the day.
