Redstar Abuzz With FUCHS Lubricants Motorsport Teams
Redstar raceway was abuzz over the weekend of 15-16 February as it hosted a series of races in which FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored teams participated.
MAD Racing: On his debutant race on Class B of the Clubmans season held at Redstar Raceway on 16 February, Dewald Brummer proved to his 18 competitors why he is a force to be reckoned with as he set the fastest time during qualifying in his FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored MAD Racing VW Polo.
Race1: Racing in wet conditions saw Brummer lose control mid-way through the race. Fortunately, he managed to recover, soon rejoining the race and putting his experience to action as he managed to pass a few drivers and mark his spot with a 2nd position podium finish in class.
Race2: Brummer started in P4 but soon took the lead in Lap 2. From there he was able to build a substantial lead and won the race. He was declared the overall winner for the day.
Monroe Racing RSA: The 2019 MotorMart VW Challenge championship did not go according to expectations for Lyle Ramsay. He had a good Race 1 finishing in 2nd position, but unfortunately the Monroe Racing RSA driver was forced to retire early from the race due to a mechanical engine failure during the warm up lap of Race 2.
Wilford Racing: The team of father and son Larry (Chevrolet Corvette) and Terry Wilford (Ford Falcon) had their debut race in the 2019 SA V8 Supercars championship. The team had a good practise session on Friday in preparation for the big race on Saturday. Unfortunately, the weather conditions on Saturday were not conducive and the race had to be cancelled.
