A Scorcher of Racing Results Produced by Teams: Race Report 6 April
FUCHS Lubricants continued to mark its visibility as racing teams sponsored by the company continued to fly the brand in the different Motorsport competitions.
Umkomaas Ski Boat Interclub Fishing Competition: The 4th inaugural Umkomaas Ski Boat Interclub Fishing Competition took place over the weekend of 29 to 31 March. And as 21 teams with representations from various areas including Eastern Cape, Shelley Beach and Gauteng took to the waters of Umkomass for the competition, FUCHS Lubricants was there for the third year running to ensure the boats were ready for action by sponsoring the teams with engine oil, engine cleaner, hand cleaner and waterproof grease.
Franco Scribante Racing: Round 3 of the G & H Transport Supercar Series
A rain drenched Zwartkops Raceway didn’t stop FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored Franco Scribante, Racing in Porsche 997 Turbo, from asserting his dominance winning Round 3 of the G & H Transport Supercar Series championship on Saturday 6 April.
Wilford Racing: Round 2 of V8 Supercars
The second round of the Mobil 1 V8 Supercars threw curve balls left right and centre at the competitors over the two-day event at Zwartkops Raceway. Friday’s downpour made it impossible for teams to test their V8s. On Saturday (6th April) it was back to business and in the qualifying race FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored Terry Wilford finished second.
As the first 10-lap race got underway, Wilford held on to 2nd position, however, in the final few laps of the race he lost positions and finished 4th. The second race saw Wilford take the lead but finished 2nd. Overall, Wilford increased his championship lead to 7 points. The next race will be on the 7 and 8 June at Phakisa Freeway in Welkom.
Kzn Racing Harescramble: P Trimborn Racing Team continued to show their strength as they took victory at the KZN Racing Harescramble held in Nottingham Road with racers participating in various Classes and flying the FUCHS Lubricants flag high. The next race will be the Inner City Enduro X to be held in Port Elizabeth 13 April.
Monroe Racing RSA: The team travelled to Zimbabwe to compete in the Fuchs Lubricants Zimbabwe race weekend at the at the Bulawayo motoring club event held at Bulawayo Motorsport Park.
The team’s two riders Daphne Lang #41 and Cameron Aitken #26 delivered a display of true professionalism as they took podium finishes in all their races.
Marc Ansley: The Mayfair Gearbox Challenge took place at the Smoking Pistons Raceway in Alberton. Ansley did well as he qualified 1st in the MX3 class qualifier giving him 1st gate pick for heat 1.
In both Heat 1 and Heat 2 Ansley finished in second place for the Moto. Overall he was second for the day in the MX3 class.
Vision Racing: The team’s racers continued their mission to win races which didn’t go in vain. Rider Louis Mostert was rider of the day at Zone 7 in Cape Town and finished 3rd at the Mayfair Gearbox Series at Dirt Bronco - extending his lead in the series by 30 points. Kieren Brown finished 8th at the National Enduro in KZN.
