Race Report 18 May 2019

Congratulations are the order of the day for FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored teams as they obtained excellent results in the various motorsport competitions, once again proving that FUCHS Lubricants products continue to improving performance and reliability.

Arrow Yamaha Racing delivered good results in the National Thundercat event which took place in Stilbaai over the weekend of 11 and 12 May 2019. Saturday’s racing had record entries of 36 race boats. Close racing was expected from the quality field. The team finished in 3rd in heat 1, 2nd in heat 2 and 8th in heat 3. This still gave them valuable championship points. On the Sunday, at the 100km Long-haul event, they narrowly missed out on an overall victory only by a few seconds, finishing 2nd.

MAD Racing’s Dewald Brummer redeemed his lead in Class B of the championship at Zwartkops Raceway. On Saturday he started in 9th position for race 1. He experienced mechanical issues and didn’t finish race 1. In race 2 Brummer’s skill came into play as he finished in 1st place in his class and obtained 8th overall for race 2. The overall result for the day sees him in 2nd position for his class.

HUD Racing obtained valuable points in Winterton, KwaZulu-Natal in Round 2 of the South African Cross Country Series 2019 Championship, the BERG 400. The team of Dave Hud and Gerhard Schutte obtained a podium finish in Class S.  

The Auto Complete Mini had a great race day. After a good qualifying session, the team went on to win race 1 and obtained 4th overall in Class and saw the team moving up a class for heat 2. The team went on to win in this class, obtaining 3rd overall for the day. The team was awarded three trophies: Best Performance of the Day, 1st in Class and 3rd Overall.
