Brand Ambassadors Hold Their Own Despite Pandemonium
Despite pandemonium FUCHS Lubricants Motorsport teams held their own at the various competitions and as the dust settled men were separated from boys. Race Report: 21 September.
Wilford Racing – There was absolute pandemonium during Round 5 of the Mobil 1 V8 Supercars race at Aldo Scribante Raceway, Port Elizabeth. Wilford Racing Team duo father Larry and son Terry held their own in their Ford Falcons during the qualifying and two 12 laps races.
Friday qualifying – Terry finished 2nd and Larry 4th. Saturday: Race 1: After three red flags, Larry Wilford was handed the win and Terry 6th. Race 2: A reverse grid saw Larry winner after starting in 9th position and Terry in 7th. The team overall finish were Terry 3rd and Larry 4th.
Monroe Racing: The 2019 Monocle Motorcycle Racing Series Round 6 championship is done and dusted. Cameron Aitken clinched the title with one race still to go, after achieving 2nd place in heat two and achieved 2nd overall for the day.
Lyle Ramsay travelled to Aldo Scribante Racetrack for Round 7 of the Extreme Festival MotorMart VW Challenge. The Monroe Racing team driver is currently in 4th place following a 4th place qualifying finish which was followed by a 3rd and 4th in Race 1 and 2 respectively.
HUD Racing - After a 10 year absence, the Retro Roof race was back by popular demand. The rally took place at Thaba Bosiu, and saw the HUD team put the Nissan through some rough terrain to finish 1st in Class, as well as 1st Production vehicle, 2nd Car Special category and 4th Overall.
Mike Speed Racing – Racing in the SuperBike Mag Short Circuit Series, Joe Louw (son) finished 3rd overall on the day winning the 2019 championship. Michael (father) finished 2nd overall on the day, also taking the 2019 Masters Championship. This is the 3rd consecutive year Michael has won a Championship. In 2017 and 2018 he was also crowned SM 2 Championship Winner.
