FUCHS Lubricants has announced its motorsport sponsorships for 2020 that range from V8 Supercars to motorbikes, cross country racing and inflatable power boats.

The sponsorships cover Terry and Larry Wilford who compete in the V8 Supercar Series, where the team finished second and fifth respectively last year. Rich Racing includes Lyle Ramsay in the VW Challenge Series who finished third in the 2019 season, as well as motor bike riders in the Monocle, Superbike Short Series and Bridgestone Challenge.

FUCHS Lubricants will also be supporting HUD Racing participating in the SA National Cross Country Series (SACCS) and as well as Team Truggy in the Off Road Series. Michael Louw Racing is being supported in the Superbike Short Circuit Series and MAD Racing in the Super GT Cup series.

Other teams include Marc Ainsley who does motocross and the Rusgenot Transport Team who race Inflatable Powerboats.

Vic Rich who has been sponsored by FUCHS for a number of years explained that their motorbikes comprise mainly Kawasaki ZR6 models. “For the engines we are using the 0W20 product.

“In engine startup is where most of the wear occurs on all mechanical machines. Because of the low viscosity, the oil gets to the top of the engine quicker, resulting in the wear in startup being almost nil.”

“This also allows the engines to rev up to 18000 rpm, improving performance. The product, contributing to reduced wear and improved performance over the past five years, has definitely given us a competitive edge.”

“In addition, reduced wear between the sprocket and the chain is extremely important. We use FUCHS Dry Gel lubrication which forms a bond on the components. The result is that the  sprockets are not wearing. The friction level has been reduced significantly.”

“In rainy conditions, fuel can pick up a lot of moisture. FUCHS Pro Boost has an inhibitor that absorbs any moisture.”

Michael Louw, who races Superbike Short Circuit Series, added: “Using FUCHS products has made a huge improvement on the bike’s engine life and performance.”

Marc Ansley, who races in regional and national motorcross, has been sponsored by FUCHS for three years. He said that the lubricants meet the tough conditions of MX racing.

Dewald Brummer, who races in the Super GT Cup series, has been sponsored by FUCHS for the past four years. “The products are brilliant and contribute to reliability and better performance.”
