The first 2017 season of racing for Fuchs Lubricants-sponsored Team Wilford took place at Midvaal Raceway in the Inland Championship series. Cars competing included Ford Mustangs, Falcon XR8, Chev Corvettes and Ford Luminas. The class comprised V8 GTA, GTA Amateur and GT4 on a grid of 22 cars.

The qualifying race saw team driver Larry Wilford facing some challenges from the rainy weather. Overall, he finished fourth. The main races saw Larry finishing second in heat 1. In heat 2, he started in second position on the grid despite experiencing braking problems during the race and held onto his position, finishing second.

The Team went away pleased with the results on the day but knowing there is a lot of work still to be done. Next the team goes to Kyalami on April 21st with proper preparations and are eager for a win.
