FUCHS Lubricants-sponsored teams produced positive results in season finale races – Race Report, 13 November. 

Mobil 1 V8 Supercars

The season finale of the Mobil 1 V8 Supercars took place at Zwartkops Raceway. Wilford Racing team took to the competition all prepped up and ready to score valuable points.

In the qualifying race, FUCHS lubricants-sponsored Terry Wilford(son) finished third in his Ford falcon V8.

Race 1: a fellow competitor experienced a mechanical failure and in the true spirit of Motorsport, Larry(father) offered his race car for him to race. Terry went on to finish fourth.

Race 2: Larry was back racing and had to start in position 12 on the grid. He finished 7th while Terry took fourth place again. Overall, the Wilford Racing team had a good racing season despite it being short.

Bridgestone BMW Club Racing Series

The last round of this year’s Bridgestone BMW Club Racing Series was held at Red Star Raceway on November 14. All eyes will be on the battle at the top of the overall standings. In Class C, Monroe Racing team’s-sponsored by FUCHS Lubricants Lyle Ramsay made an impressive debut in the Class at Red Star and was back to give it his all in his BMW E36 328i. 

Despite 2020 being an extremely difficult year for motorsport and the Bridgestone BMW Club Racing Series has not been exempt from the challenges 2021 season is set to be exciting. The first race will take place during the annual “Passion for Speed” event set to take place at the end of January at the popular Zwartkops Raceway.

National Motocross Championship

Marc Ansley participated in Round 4 and 5 of the National Motocross Championship took place at BORMC track in Bloemfontein. 

Day 1: Round 4 - Practise race Ansley qualified fourth in the MX3 Class. In heats 1 and 2 he finished 4th respectively giving him a fourth overall for the day in the MX3 class.

Day 2: Round 5 - In heats 1 and 2 Ansley finished 4th respectively giving him a fourth overall for the day in the MX3 class.
