Big Weekend of Racing for FUCHS Lubricants Sponsored Racers
MAD Racing The year started on positive note for MAD Racing. Dewald Brummer, participated in the Engen Volkswagen Cup, finished 2nd place overall, an impressive result considering he hasn’t driven a Polo since 2014.
The next stop was Zwartkops Kart Track for the F400 endurance kart race. The team duo of Dewald Brummer and Bevan Williams participated and jointly won two of the three heats and achieved third place in race two - giving them an overall first position win. The team of brothers Heinrich and Nathan de Villiers, also sponsored by FUCHS Lubricants, finished 4th overall.
Next on the MAD Racing calendar is the SA Endurance series on 13th May at Killarney racetrack in Cape Town where the Golfs will be in action. “Thank you, FUCHS Lubricants for the quality products you supply the team which contribute significantly to overall performance and reliability,” said Deon Brummer, team manager.
Monroe Racing - Round 3 of Super GP Cup The 2nd round of the 2017 Super-GP Champions Trophy is still fresh in everyone’s memory, with the next race at Zwartkops Raceway hosting Round 3 on Saturday, May 13. Although she’s had no practice time due to injury, Savannah Woodward is awaiting her first inland round of the season.
Competing in the 600cc class, she will be joined by Luca Coccoli. Following a brilliant start to his season in the coastal events, Coccioni is eager to compete in the Monroe Racing colours at his home circuit. He will be doing double duty competing in the Super Juniors race.
The Monroe Racing team is bringing back a familiar name to their line-up for the weekend with England’s Connor Rossi Thomson making his victorious 600cc debut for the team in his guest appearance at the final round of the Zimbabwean national championship in 2016. The team is securing his services for either a 250cc machine or in the Super Juniors class – the local equivalent of Thomson’s British championship.
The team’s third 600cc rider CJ Hackart has not yet been declared fit to compete in the national championship following his injury during a recent test session.
