In 2019, Kyalami made a welcome return to the international motorsport calendar as the iconic 9 Hour endurance race returned as part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge series. The 9 Hour was again held in 2020 notwithstanding the restrictions imposed by the global covid pandemic.

The race returned in 2022 as the final round of the 2021 Intercontinental GT Challenge – Powered by Pirelli, having visited Europe (Spa 24 Hour) and the USA (Indianapolis 8 Hour).

FUCHS Lubricants is a proud sponsor of Terry Wilford, from Wilford Racing who participated in the Kyalami 9-hour race from 3-5 February.

In the qualifying session, Terry qualified in P6 as a result of a broken fuel pump. Thankfully, the team had enough time to replace it and make any adjustments. 

The handling was not ideally what we wanted, but despite a near scare at the end of the race, Terry brought the car home in 6'th place. 

An excellent start to the racing calendar!
