The 22nd Passion For Speed at Zwartkops International World of Motoring.
When qualifying came around, the T 70 Lola was overheating and misfiring in 33C ambient temperature. We couldn't help but feel disappointed when we ranked 10th on the Grid Sheet. It was time to damage control.
A whole myriad of checks were done, including opening extra cooling vents and replacing spark plugs. As a safety precaution, we dosed the radiator with Silkolene Pro Cool and doctored the fuel with one of my favourite FUCHS products Silkolene Pro Boost
“I cannot say I got a good start however I managed to squeeze my way through exiting turn 2 and got past a Porsche , thinking to myself wow 1 down 8 to go,” commented Terry Wilford.
Throughout the next few laps, the T70 was performing well, even when it was fighting traffic. By lap 7, I had managed to dispense with 6 more cars, and was now lying 3rd.
Watching for a pass opportunity, I closed the gap between the 2 leaders. After entering turn 8, the driver lying 2nd tried an out-braking manoeuvre on the leading Chevron. Realizing this would affect their exit speed, I grabbed the apex of the corner and unleashed the 750 horses I had!
JOB DONE!!!What a great start to 2023.
