A tough, yet great weekend of Motorsport for FUCHS Lubricants brand ambassadors.
Team Truggy, driven by Giel Nel and navigator Dewalt Hatting, took top honours in Class P in both the Club 150 km and the Regional 200 km races at the Koster 200 on the 22nd July 2017. The team was also crowned overall winners in the Special Vehicle Category for both the Club and Regional events and also posted the fastest lap of the day.
“We had another faultless performance, all thanks to the FUCHS Lubricants we are using on our vehicle. It really gives us the competitive advantage needed by the team,” said Giel Nel.
Savannah Woodward was signed up to race in both the 600cc and 250cc class categories. Friday's practice consisted of 120 laps to help her find the balance and pace which she was comfortable with.
Saturday Race day: In Race 1 of the 250cc class, Savannah finished 2nd. There was an accident in Race 1 of the 600cc class, causing the riders to take precaution including Savannah who eventually finished 10th.
Race 2 of the 250cc class was an intense battle; halfway into the race Savannah lost control almost crashing the bike, but she regained her composure to finish 5th. In the 600cc race, she was still startled by her ordeal in the previous race and she decided to call it a day.
Two days and 180 laps on possibly the most technical track in South Africa was certainly a test of endurance, attitude and determination for the Monroe Racing Team. “We are privileged to have two of the best racers in Lyle Ramsay and Savannah Woodward. They definitely have our sponsors FUCHS Lubricants best interests at heart,” said Vic Rich, team manager.
