Lance Isaacs Concludes His 2017 SuperGP Championship Season
Saturday, 23 September saw Lance Isaacs compete in his final race of the 2017 SuperGP Champions Trophy at Redstar Raceway, Mpumalanga.
From the Friday morning practice session, Lance Isaacs encountered brake problems with his BMW S1000RR bike.
This remained an issue throughout the day which saw him finishing in 9th position in the qualifying round and his time of 1:52 means there is only 1 second to finish in the top 5”.
The team changed the complete brake system overnight and the desired result was successful when Lance managed a P3 in the warm-up session.
Race 1: Mechanical issues persisted with the bike which caused him to slow down. He finished in 8th position. Race 2: Lance battled to get the bike to perform and he settled to finish the race without causing too much damage to it, finishing in 7th position.
“It has been a rough season for us but a year with a lot of new experiences. We have progressed enormously over 2017 and the unfortunate crashes in the middle of the season have set us back in a big way,” said Isaacs.
“Thanks to FUCHS Lubricants for the sponsorship, support and keeping your faith in me. In the 2018 season we will give our all and aim to take podium finishes in all races,” he said.
